The International Development Research Centre in partnership with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada is pleased to announce the five projects that will be supported through the International Research Initiative on Adaptation to Climate Change (IRIACC). Through research-based adaptation strategies, IRIACC seeks to make vulnerable people and the communities they live in safer, and their economies more resilient. Five international research teams have been created under the initiative. Each partners Canadian researchers with counterparts in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Together, over the next 5 years, they will conduct collaborative and comparative research to better understand the effects of climate change and how people, their communities, and economic sectors can best adapt to these effects.
