The Final Evaluation Report of the Climate Change Adaptation in Africa (CCAA) research and capacity development program is now available online. CCAA was a six-year joint initiative of IDRC and the UK Department for International Development (DFID) that ended on March 31, 2012. The program sought to significantly improve the capacity of African people and organizations to adapt to climate change in ways that benefit the most vulnerable.
The report provides the following:
An assessment of the program’s results and the extent to which it achieved its goals and objectives
Lessons about the CCAA approach to supporting research, capacity building, and knowledge sharing on issues related to climate change adaptation
Recommendations for future programming on climate change adaptation research, capacity building, and knowledge sharing based on the evaluation findings
The evaluation contains insights relevant for future climate change adaptation programming by IDRC, DFID, and other donors, as well as African researchers, policy-makers, and practitioners working in the field of adaptation.
